Throwing elbows at the ticket counter

Chapati breakfast

I call this photo, "India"

Arriving in Amritsar

Tikki Aloo

Chevda everywhere

Foot bath at the entrance to the Golden Temple

Inside the chaos

The right idea when it's nearly 50 degrees

Pure Punjabi

Dense crowds shuffle inch by inch to the temple

Naked caucasian babies = Good luck

Tikki Aloo (burger) became a favorite

Enormous line-ups for the border ceremony at Wagah, Punjab

Waving flags prior to the ceremony

Soldiers preparing to march, although it looks more like the source of

Thousands of Indians chanting "Hindu-stan!"

The performances are mirrored by the Pakistani guard as well

Pakistan's turnout is not quite as numerous

The heat remains above 40 Celsius into the night

The Kangra Valley Toy Train (averaging 10kph with stops)

A railway gauge as narrow as a roller rollercoaster

Crowded trains during the holidays

The tracks are so narrow the rail cars hang over the sides

McLeod Ganj where the Dalai Lama resides

Dharamkot a few minutes to the North

Prayer wheels surround His Holiness' compound

Tibetan Library on campus

Paths meander between the forest littered with Tibetan prayers

And more prayer wheels...

Let's not forget, we're still in India

Monks

The hillside behind McLeod Ganj

The mountains of Himachel Pradesh in the distance

Meanwhile in New Delhi...

Taxi!

Central Station, New Delhi

Street food EVERYWHERE ! ! !

Paharganj, the tourist stronghold

Lassi from the street, a stomach's ultimate (or final) test

Dawn in Delhi (only 30 degrees above)
